Terrain Steep ridge, open moss, steep hillside and long narrow ridge

Littledale Edge is the long-level ridge that extends north-west from Dale

Head, linking with Hindscarth and Robinson. From Buttermere village take the Newlands Pass road northeast around the first bend then take the steep path east up to Buttermere Moss, then on to the summit of Robinson. From Robinson, head south a short distance to the start of Littledale Edge. Turn south-east and follow the crest of the main ridge to the summit of Dale Head.
