Terrain Valley mouth, steep ridge and narrow summit ridge

This route takes in the western half of the classic Newlands Round, bagging the superbly shaped peak of Hindscarth. From Little Town take the valley bottom path south until you reach the disused Goldscope Lead Mines, then cut across to Low Snab. From Low Snab, join the path that climbs north-north-west to the base of Hindscarth’s north ridge. Once on the ridge, follow its crest southwest over High Crags and then to the summit of Hindscarth. Continue south from Hindscarth to join the main ridge, which is followed south-east to the summit of Dale Head.
