With a fusion of climbing and trail shoe design, the Mescalito is footwear designed to perform on rock. The lace to toe design gives a superb fit that allows precise, positive and confidence-inspiring foot placements, while the Vibram Megagrip sole is super sticky on rock. There is always a trade-off in cushioning for precision though – and the feel through these shoes gives great connection with the terrain and is very comfy, but isn't so plush in the forefoot for longer hikes. VERDICT Comfy for walking and wonderfully liberating for rocky scrambles when precision and grip is required.
