Hidden in plain sight
At the south-eastern most point of the Carneddau range, carved off from the rest of the massif by Llyn Cowlyd, is Creigiau Gleision, a triple-peaked hill with a high point of 678m. Don’t let that relatively diminutive size put you off though, as this is a cracker of a craggy little hill. It’s good, rough-going to the top and once there its isolated position gives fantastic views of the Carneddau, with the Glyderau in the middle distance, and Snowdon poking its head up behind. Start with Crimpiau and end with a jaunt up Pen Llithrig y Wrach for a full mountain round.
