Charlie Batham

Paul Batham is nominating his son Charlie (aged 7) as the best Everest Anywhere companion for 2021. It is Charlie’s third year doing the challenge, which he started on his 5th birthday at Holyhead Mountain on Anglesey. He now has over 100 summits under his belt, with 55 of them this year. He’s so far managed to get in over two Everests this year to equal last year’s tally, and turned his time in the hills into a fundraising event to build a climbing wall around his school playground. “Days in the hills just wouldn’t be the same without him,” says Dad.
