LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES

-

Rob Johnson: “The first time I went out in winter I was told to pack ski goggles. I did so, but buried them somewhere near the bottom of the rucksack. As we topped out on the Cairngorm plateau we were hit by strong winds carrying painful snow into our faces. Time for the goggles. While my two companions swiftly retrieved theirs from the top of their packs, I blindly tried to find mine underneath the mountain of kit I was carrying. In the end one of them had to help me as I could not see a thing. Since then I have kept them in the top of my rucksack with my headtorch so that they are easy to find when it is difficult to see.”
