Taking up permanent residence in my summer hillwalking ‘gobag’ are these two nifty repellent and hand sanitiser sprays. They come in such handy dispensers that you don’t even know you’ve got them in your pack until you need them. The bug spray is plantbased, DEET-free and effectively protects from biting midges, ticks and mosquitoes for 6 hours. In the depths of one particularly bad breeze-less Scottish summer there was no escaping the critters, and I felt like I was being attacked a plague of midges.
