Nose: Caramel chews and brown sugar cubes. Honey Nut Cornflakes. Coffee cake and fresh banana bread. Then peaches and green plums come through. Greengage and a little gooseberry.
Palate: The fruit continues with a touch of faint smoke. Packets of Starburst sweets, if you eat them one after another. Cherry compote and toasted pine nuts.
Finish: A little tea tannins at first then it is fruit all the way.
Comments: Like an orchard on a cold summer morning, with everything ripe and ready to harvest.

Nose: Old-fashioned toffees from a tin, tarte Tatin, furniture polish, cinnamon sticks, and fresh cloudy apple juice.
Palate: Light and bright, with more of those orchard fruit notes (apples and pears) balanced by vanilla and caramel. Baked red apple and Werther’s Originals, is somone making strudel?
Finish: Medium-short, it lingers on the apple for a moment, before fading to subtle tanin. The caramel, however, lingers on.
Comments: All the components of a toffee apple, but less intense and no sticky fingers! Equally comforting.
