CLASSIC SHOW
Telford
The Putoline Oils-supported Classic Off-Road Show, held at Telford, once again delivered for the classic & retro enthusiast, with many machines and characters in attendance. This year for some reason the show had a tremendous buzz about it, with such famous names as Sammy Miller, Yrjo Vesterinen, Mick Andrews and Dougie Lampkin, to name but a few in attendance, sharing their stories both old and new over the two days. Saturday was The day, with all the halls full of the banter and fun associated with these events. Friends meet from all over the globe, with the French and Spanish language especially noticeable. Many private collections were on display and both the Pre-65 Scottish Six Days Trial team, which celebrates thirty years this year, and the Scott Trial committee had members in attendance with their own stands. The Scott Trial celebrates one hundred years this year and the team from Richmond are looking to make this year’s event one to remember.
Putoline Topman John Haydon sponsored the show once again. On his own admission he is a ‘Classic Anorak’ and had on display this very special Yamaha 250cc belonging to Nick Oakley of Leisure Trail.
It’s always a pleasure to have Classic Trial Magazine’s friends over from France with their exotic collection of ex-works Hondas. They were joined by the Honda trials team manager and works rider Nick Jefferies. From left to right: Nick Jefferies, Sammy Miller, Patrick Pissis, Jean Caillou and Oliver Barjon.
