“Joining in the fun has been Toni Bou and Pol Tarres along with a few of the other top Spanish trials riders which is good as it keeps

you very focused and motivated.”

By the time you read this the X-Trial Indoor World series will be over. I have really enjoyed this year’s series and feel that I am getting closer to breaking into the top three having been so close on a few occasions already. I have been away training in Europe as often as possible in the early part of the year as I now focus on both the opening

rounds of the British and World Championships.

It might only be March but this year has been so hectic already. As well as competing in the X-Trial World Championship rounds I have been practising as much as possible but not always on the trials machine. My good mate Steve Peat has been pushing me to the limits on the mountain bike which is always good fun and certainly helps to raise your fitness level. My wife Emma and my mother and father travelled out for the Indoor in Barcelona which was good and along with the British supporters who made the trip, I hope I put on a good display for you all. I felt so good in the qualifying but was a little disappointed with my form in the final.

At Barcelona the qualifying is in the afternoon with the final a few hours later. I am sure if the final had been straight after qualifying I would have made the podium, but there you go.

This year once again my training schedule has been based mainly in Spain. I have had fellow British riders Dec Bullock and Jack Sheppard with me which always helps. We then had Sandy Mac turn up with his son and some friends which always makes the days spent away from home so much better.

Joining in the fun has been Toni Bou and Pol Tarres along with a few of the other top Spanish trials riders which is good as it keeps you very focused and motivated.

Having joined the Roundhouse Team in 2013 I will be continuing with them in 2014 giving them my knowledge and experience I have gained over the years as a professional trials rider. This part of the job is one I really enjoy as being able to help the riders is immensely satisfying and especially when they get the results they deserve. Team owner, Simon Bullock, is so passionate about his trials and it’s so good to see him helping and encouraging the younger riders who he has in the team.

I will finish by telling you that the ‘Bump’ my wife Emma has carrying our baby continues to grow which certainly keeps me focused on making 2014 a big year as I will have another mouth to feed!
