“…as far as he knows I am the first lady motorcycle rider from Great Britain to win an individual World

Championship – awesome!”

Yes I am a motorcycle World Champion, yes I am a motorcycle World Champion and yes I have to keep reminding myself. It’s a goal in life I always dreamt of when I started competing on motorcycles many years ago. My main discipline is trials as you all know but when I was given the opportunity to enter the Super Enduro World Championship by Sherco and MRS, who could have predicted the result.

Iwent to the final round of the Super Enduro in France with an outside chance of taking the title after

had a big crash in round two in Poland where I finished off the podium.

Jane Daniels was my biggest threat due to her previous Enduro experience but I approached the final event very committed knowing that in racing anything can happen.

Qualifying went well and I put in the second quickest time with my aim to get to the front as soon as possible where I could control the race.

I waited on the start grid with the Sherco ready to fire me from the gate and it did! I was soon at the head of the pack which allowed me to concentrate and ride my own race; the noise from the crowd was unreal.

When Jane Daniels slipped on the rock section and went from second to third as Spain’s Sandra Gomez passed her, the title was mine, what a feeling!

One of my friends has informed me that as far as he knows I am the first lady motorcycle rider from Great Britain to win an individual World Championship – awesome!

I would like to thank both the Sherco factory and the MRS Sherco team here in the UK. Malcolm and Rhoda Rathmell have encouraged me all the way as it was a perfect opportunity to demonstrate the abilities of the new Sherco Enduro machine. To everyone else including all my sponsors and supporters, we can all share the glory as I can proudly stake my claim that I am a World Champion.

After all the excitement of the Enduro world it was back to trials on the Sherco and the first round of the Ladies British Championship. It was a good event and I felt very confident on the machine which resulted in a good positive performance, yes 2014 is already looking good.
