A warm welcome greeted everyone for the British Arena Trials Championship held as day two of the brilliantly organised North Berks Supertrial weekend. On the Saturday Emma Bristow had taken the Ladies title. Stuart Robinson and his crew from the North Berks club had worked their magic on the sections overnight and after two laps of qualifying, fifteen riders were cut down to eight for the final. After four sections this was further cut to four riders to shoot it out over the final six sections. At this stage Michael Brown held a three mark lead over James Dabill with Alexz Wigg a further mark back from Jack Sheppard. The deciding section was number eight with a vertical step at the end that had to be attempted with no run up whatsoever. It took full marks off Jack and Michael but when Wiggy got out for a three it raised a big cheer but the ride of the day was by eventual winner James Dabill. The final waterfall hazard, complete with fireworks as each rider exited, was just too steep and slippery for any to get out from and the result was settled.
