The final round of this year’s British Sidecar Championship, the Mel Harrison Trial would see the sixteen times winner of the title, fifty two year old Robin Luscombe bow out from the series on a high. Sharing this moment in the chair was his twenty two year old son Robin. Second place on the day behind another family pairing of Rupert and Chris Kimber was enough to take the 2013 Championship for the Luscombes.
The event which was held at the popular Dob Park venue near Otley in Yorkshire was where successful garage owner, Robin, and his son, Sam, ended their association with the British Sidecar Championship on a high with the series win. The event winners, Rupert and Chris Kimber, have had an eventful year but have always been missing the consistency to challenge the Luscombe pairing in the past but this challenge came to life in 2013 with them being close to or better than the Luscombes in the early part of the series.
