The fi­nal round of this year’s Bri­tish Side­car Cham­pi­onship, the Mel Har­ri­son Trial would see the six­teen times win­ner of the ti­tle, fifty two year old Robin Lus­combe bow out from the se­ries on a high. Shar­ing this mo­ment in the chair was his twenty two year old son Robin. Sec­ond place on the day be­hind an­other fam­ily pair­ing of Ru­pert and Chris Kim­ber was enough to take the 2013 Cham­pi­onship for the Lus­combes.

The event which was held at the pop­u­lar Dob Park venue near Ot­ley in York­shire was where suc­cess­ful garage owner, Robin, and his son, Sam, ended their as­so­ci­a­tion with the Bri­tish Side­car Cham­pi­onship on a high with the se­ries win. The event win­ners, Ru­pert and Chris Kim­ber, have had an event­ful year but have al­ways been miss­ing the con­sis­tency to chal­lenge the Lus­combe pair­ing in the past but this chal­lenge came to life in 2013 with them be­ing close to or bet­ter than the Lus­combes in the early part of the se­ries. They came good though at the key point with the win not know­ing that the fi­nal round
