Jonny Walker
As you travel along on the adventure of life some people are destined to become a part of a certain way of life or to achieve great goals. When talent is identified at a young age it can usually carve out a passage in life for you. In the case of Jonny Walker it always looked like it was going to be riding a motorcycle. As the youngest ever winner of the prestigious Pinhard Trophy he looked set to join the ranks of the world’s best motorcyclists in the world of trials. Very much a carefree spirit, Jonny became disillusioned with the trials world and purchased his own Motocross machine to have fun on. With the endless talent shining through a friend suggested he should try moving into the Enduro world. Despite his young age he became a fulltime professional rider in Enduro and has begun to challenge the elite, having already enjoyed
considerable success – but we all knew it was only a matter of time.
Born on the 21st January 1991 near the Lake District town of Keswick, in the north of England, Jonny Walker has been riding a motorcycle since the age of four. He began his career by competing in the British Schoolboy Trials Championship, winning two titles and maintaining a top-three position until he was seventeen. In 2008 and 2009 he competed in the European and Junior World Trials Championships, but after several years of trials he needed a new challenge to feed his ‘fix’ on a motorcycle. Buying his first motocross machine led him to try the sport of Enduro.
Jonny Walker, Red Bull athlete; how we doing?
Yes, I am good at this moment in time thanks! Busy training. When everyone else is winding down for Christmas we have to keep going as the racing never stops, it just changes from Hard Enduro to Indoor races for a while.
