Trial Magazine

Trial Magazine: 50th Issue

-

In September 2006 a new company named CJ Publishing Limited was formed in the UK to produce the new Trial Magazine.

Charles Benhamou and John Hulme got together to present their first issue in January 2007. Charles, with his family, first started Trial Magazine in France in 2002.

At the UK world round of the 2006 WTC at Hawkstone Park, Ossa/ Scorpa importer Nigel Birkett introduced John Hulme to Charles and his father Philipp and, as they say, the rest is history, as we arrive at issue 50.

John Hulme: “This adventure of producing Trial Magazine has been a fantastic part of my life as I have always been very passionate about motorcycle trials. My parents, Ron and Joyce, introduced me to the sport at a very young age and I competed in my first event in 1974.

“I have been very fortunate to be involved for so long and I am just as passionate now as I was then. I have forged a very strong bond with the Benhamou family in France who have supported me all the way which I am eternally grateful for and I now class them as my ‘French family’. The support for the magazine has always been very strong and I would personally like to thank everyone who has supported it in any way.

“Over the period we have been producing Trial Magazine in the UK we have printed over 500,000 magazines and reached out to spread the word of trials all around the globe and it continues to go from strength to strength. This is supported by our website www.trialmaguk.com”.

Charles Benhamou: “I had heard the name of John Hulme from trials and seen the Yoomee books he had produced. I spoke with Benjamin Delmont who was at Scorpa at the time and he contacted Nigel Birkett to organise the meeting with a view to him publishing the magazine in English. I knew immediately he was the guy I wanted to work with, such was his enthusiasm for the sport. Over the years we have become very good friends as well as business partners and I am very proud of what we have achieved”.
