THE HOME COMING
The UK round of the FIM World Trials Championship moves to Yorkshire, at Parkwood Off-road Centre for 2016. The venue is situated between Leeds and Bradford. Yorkshire has a strong trials tradition, and it’s many years since an outdoor world championship trial was held in the northern county.
Event director John Kerwin said, “The trial needed a move, and this venue fits the bill ticking all the boxes for a WTC round. Section designer Graham Jarvis has made many visits to the venue and has designed twelve new fantastic hazards. Work has already started on the construction of the hazards which will be a mixture of natural streams, gullies and banks enhanced with additional rocks, as we did with Penrith; it’s all about the vision and turning it into reality”.
The Yorkshire world trial at Parkwood will take place in July, starting with the first visit to the UK of a round of the very popular ladies’ WTC headed by the defending champion Great Britain’s Emma Bristow on 15th July, and followed by the men’s on 17th & 18th making it a superb festival of trials.
