Lost and Found

Trial Magazine - - NEWS -

This lost-and-found story is quite an unusual one, in the fact that this Fantic turned up in Japan. French rider Thierry Michaud confirmed that this 301 singleshock Fantic model on display was one of his early prototype machines, and on inspection noted it still had some hand-made parts. The exhaust system and aluminium air-filter box were the most notable parts and Michaud was pretty confident he rode this machine at the 1985 SSDT. How did it end up in Japan, you may ask? Michaud remembered that one of his machines had been shipped to Japan for some indoor demonstration events. Expect to see it return to Michaud in the near future! How many people can be proud to be still competing in the Scottish Six Days Trial at the ripe old age of sixty one? The official UK Scorpa importer Nigel Birkett can! This was his forty-fifth time competing at the world famous event, and he holds the record for the most starts at the ‘Scottish’.
