Trial Magazine - - INVITATION ONLY -

Following on from its British Championship round the day before, which uses the no-stop rule format, Scarborough & DMCC Ltd reversed the trend to use the stop allowed rule for its ‘Supertrial’; did it work? You bet it did, as the enthusiastic crowd witnessed the best of the British riders pushing their abilities to the edge of their talent. Thirteen invited riders attempted ten hazards in qualifying, using a time limit of one and a half hours for the two laps with eight riders going through to the semi-final. The ten hazards were all toughened up and then four more riders were eliminated, leaving just four in the grand finale. Some superb action was on show and James Dabill demonstrated why he is Great Britain’s top rider with a clear victory over new ‘hot-shot’ Jack Price. We have two more Supertrials coming along very shortly, go and watch one and form your own opinion; I know I have mine – it was ace!
