New British Champion in 2017

Trial Magazine - - NEWS -

The news that Spanish manufacturer Gas Gas has signed the current British Trials Champion means that we will have a new British champion in 2017. In recent years James has dominated the British Championship, apart from an interruption by Michael Brown in 2013, but he will now be based in Spain and will contest their national championship for Gas Gas as its number one rider. The eight-round championship series is wide open, but will the new champion come from the younger riders? On paper we have Jack Sheppard (Beta) who was the only rider to beat Dabill in 2016, but expect Jack Price (Gas Gas) and Iwan Roberts (Beta) to use their experience to put one over the old school of Michael Brown (Gas Gas) and Ross Danby (TRS). Throw in the youngsters like Toby Martyn (Vertigo) and Dan and Jack Peace (Gas Gas), and we should see some battles for the wins when the series starts at the excellent Hook Wood venue on 5th March.
