WOMEN ALL EQUAL

- Article: Trials Media

It would be the third round of the FIM Trial World Championship in Germany that would welcome the 2022 Trial2 Women’s class to the series. As it turned out, it would a very close fight between Denisa Pechackova (Beta-CZE) and Sophia Ter Jung (TRRS-GER), who both took a win each.

This feeder series for the talented ladies, Trial2, has turned out to be a very keen contest. The opening two rounds in Germany produced two very clear winners. Riding in front of a home crowd, it was a delighted Sophia Ter Jung on the TRRS who took the win on day one after she and two other riders, Theresa Bauml (Vertigo-GER) and Keity Meier (TRRS-EST), had all tied after the opening lap, on nine marks lost. On the second lap, Ter Jung upped her game to part with just four more marks as Pechackova did a superb recovery job to part with just five marks and pushed Bauml down to third.

Great Britain’s Kaytlyn Adshead on the TRRS recovered from a poor opening lap of 16 marks lost to climb up to finish fourth, with Keity Meier fifth.

After overnight rain the sections were more difficult on day two as the mud was carried onto the many rocks, which was reflected in the higher winning score of 15 from Denisa Pechackova. Her clear winning score put her well in front of her rivals, who had no answer to her two-lap scores of eleven and four.

Sophia Ter Jung kept her calm in a close contest with Theresa Bauml, outpointing her by just two marks, as Bauml stopped in the final section of the day.

With this championship only being contested over two rounds and four points-scoring days, it will be all to play for at the final round in Italy in September.
