Hardy lots star at auction
TACKLE manufacturers Hardy are celebrating a new partnership with Salmon & Trout Conservation, by putting forward two bespoke fishing outfits for S&TC’s Annual Auction, due to take place on November 14. It is hoped this will be the first of various collaborative projects between the two organisations, intended to help conserve wild fish and their waters. As S&TC receives no government money, fundraising initiatives such as its Annual Dinner and Auction at Fishmonger’s Hall in London, are essential to the continuation of its work. The two lots donated to this year’ auction by Hardy are a unique S&TC Hardy Complete Angler Outfit and a bespoke S&TC Hardy Trout Smuggler Set. The first comprises a Hardy Salmon Smuggler 14ft 6in 10wt rod and a Hardy Trout Smuggler 9ft 5wt rod, both fitted with
limited edition Hardy ‘Perfect’ reels and matching fitted fly lines. Also included are two Richard Wheatley handmade fly boxes, with an assortment of trout and salmon flies. The outfit is packaged in a custom-built leather case by Casecraft UK (valued at £3k). The second outfit – a S&TC unit, Hardy Trout Smuggler 9ft 5wt rod with limited edition Hardy ‘Perfect’ reel, matching fitted fly line and a handmade Richard Wheatley fly box with a selection of trout flies. This outfit comes in an aluminium flight case with laser cut foam liner. While the live auction is sold out, S&TC are accepting private sealed bids.
