THESE spiral indicators are ideal for European nymphing techniques and especially the French nymphing method when targeting brown trout and grayling on the rivers. The tightly spiralled coloured nylon that forms the indicator is approximately two inches long and there is a tail of straight nylon at each end. You can either attach these ends to a small O-ring for easy changeover, or connect them straight through to your leader and tippet. Maximum stretch of the indicator is 36 inches. This type of indicator is ideal when fishing with small flies from size 12 to 20, which are often cast upstream or slightly to one side and then actually pulled to induce a take by retrieving them back downstream. Used in this manner the spiral or coiled indicator will detect the subtlest of takes and also allows the angler that extra little bit of time to react and set the hook. The indicators are available in hi vis orange and hi vis yellow and you get two indicators per packet.
