This pic­turesque mid­dle River Tay beat fea­tures two miles of dou­ble-bank fish­ing with 16 named pools. Con­di­tions are suitable for the fly and spin­ning and can com­fort­ably ac­com­mo­date the novice and more ex­pe­ri­enced an­gler. There is good ve­hic­u­lar ac­cess to both banks. The beat has a well-ap­pointed hut, a pic­nic area and toi­let fa­cilites. The beat is cen­tred around the vil­lages of Dunkeld and Bir­nam and is ap­prox­i­mately 13 miles north of Perth on the eastern side of the A9 road into the Scot­tish High­lands.
