PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE RACE

it’s MANCHESTER VERSUS LONDON in a Super Sunday double-header

-

Sunday, Sky Sports Premier League HD

& Sky Sports Main Event HD

IT’S STILL EARLY days, but Sunday’s doubleheader could end up having a big impact on the Premier League title chase as Manchester City host Arsenal (kick-off 2.15pm) and Manchester United travel to Chelsea (kick-off 4.30pm).

We asked former Spurs and Liverpool defender Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock to preview both matches…

MANCHESTER CITY V ARSENAL

City are playing some spectacular football. After finishing a poor third last season, the team have had a new lease of life, with Kevin De Bruyne running the show and John Stones getting better by the week. Coach Pep Guardiola seems to have improved each player by five per cent, and that makes a massive difference when applied to the whole team.

It should be a free-flowing open game against Arsenal. In fact, City are playing the Arsenal way – only far better than Arsenal do. It’s a shame Jack Wilshere is so injuryprone as I like the energy he brings to the Arsenal midfield, but whoever Arsène Wenger selects, I think it will be a difficult day for the Gunners.

Prediction Another stylish victory for City.

CHELSEA V MANCHESTER UNITED

José Mourinho has assembled United’s best team since the days of Alex Ferguson, so

I was annoyed to see his team park the bus in the game at

Liverpool a few weeks ago. He has spent so much money improving the team that it left a sour taste when he resorted to those tactics instead of taking the game to Liverpool.

It will be interesting to see how Mourinho is welcomed at

Stamford Bridge where he got some

‘Judas’ chants last season. The Blues are not the force they were when winning the league last season, and

Antonio Conte cannot afford to lose any more games. Gary Cahill and David Luiz will need to be at their best against Romelu Lukaku who is leading the line brilliantly for United, with lots of movement around him.

Prediction United to leave with a

point.
