DONALD SUTHERLAND heads the cast of a gripping saga about the troubled Getty family
HERE’S AN EARLY glimpse of Donald Sutherland as oil tycoon J Paul Getty in Sky Atlantic’s epic 10-part drama Trust, directed by Danny Boyle, which follows the lives of the super-wealthy but damaged Getty clan.
The series, airing later this year, begins in 1973 when Getty’s grandson John Paul Getty III (played by Harris Dickinson) is kidnapped in Rome, but the boy’s eccentric grandfather is reluctant to pay the multi-million dollar ransom…

‘The Gettys try to fill the big hole in each of their souls with money or sex or drugs,’ says the show’s writer/co-executive producer Simon Beaufoy. ‘A lack of empathy and understanding of human emotion is passed down.’
