Wielding a baseball bat as a weapon and dropping tart one-liners with a deranged leer, Margot Robbie’s psychopathic kook Harley Quinn is the best thing by far about this darkly comic subversion of more earnest superhero fantasies. Quinn is a member of the eponymous Suicide Squad, a group of incarcerated villains – including Will Smith’s unstoppable assassin Deadshot and Jai Courtney’s Aussie thief Captain Boomerang – sprung from custody to battle even deadlier foes.
