RICHARD GERE heads the cast of a dark thriller about a dysfunctional family
RICHARD GERE IS looking pensive in this intriguing early shot from his enticing new BBC2 drama Mother-father-son, airing in 2019.
The eight-part series, which is currently being filmed in London and Spain, sees the Hollywood star make his British TV drama debut as charming and powerful American businessman Max, who runs a range of newspapers and media outlets across the world, while Peaky Blinders actress Helen Mccrory plays his estranged wife, British heiress Kathryn.
However, the future of Max’s lucrative business portfolio comes under threat due to the destructive behaviour of their 30-year-old son Caden, played by Billy Howle, who is in charge of Max’s UK newspaper.
Sarah Lancashire also features as Leader of the Opposition Angela
Howard, alongside Danny Sapani as Britain’s first Muslim Prime Minister. Sinéad Cusack, Paul Ready and Joseph Mawle co-star.
‘It’s been almost 30 years since I worked in TV,’ says Gere. ‘I’m so pleased to be working now with the BBC on this extraordinary project with such talented people and which resonates so much to the time we live in.’
