This week’s top stories
DANIEL OSBOURNE HAS quite the spring in his step this week, as he accepts a place on a master’s course. But as the bookworm looks forward to a career beyond the Bistro, little does he realise that his wife Sinead’s future isn’t looking quite so rosy. Over at Weatherfield General, the pregnant knicker stitcher’s worst fears come true, as she’s told that she has cervical cancer.
Poor Sinead is heartbroken, especially when she’s advised to consider a termination. As she runs out of the consulting room in tears, she bumps into Ken, who is concerned to see his daughterin-law in such a state.
Back on the cobbles, Ken pays Sinead a visit. She confides in him about her diagnosis, but insists he keep quiet to Daniel. Ken’s torn. The last time he kept a secret from Daniel – when he persuaded Sinead to have an abortion behind the lad’s back – his furious son pushed him down the stairs.
Can Sinead persuade her father-in-law to keep her confidence, or will Ken feel compelled to tell Daniel the truth?
PLUS Nick tells Leanne he wants her back, Ali plots to do a runner, Kevin is questioned by the police about Michelle’s faulty car, Peter’s in a dilemma over Vicky, and Angie goes on a date behind Jude’s back.
