‘Romesh is the absolute antithesis of the spirit of Christmas’ Kerry Godliman

NEW Comedy dave’s Advent Calendar From Saturday, dave Hd, 9pm

DAVE HAS COME up with a novel take on the traditional yuletide advent calendar this year. The channel will be showing a new short comedy film (and we mean short – each one is just one-minute long) every day from Saturday until Christmas Eve.

Featuring a host of comedy talent, including Jon Richardson, Sally Phillips, Ross Noble, Nina Conti and Josh Widdicombe, the short films go out every night at 9pm, beginning on Saturday with Kerry Godliman attempting to prove to a cynical Romesh Ranganathan how Christmas presents can bring happiness and light to his life.

We caught up with Godliman to hear more about the series… ROMESH WAS GREAT FUN TO MAKE A FILM WITH…

When I was first asked who I wanted to appear with, he immediately came to mind because he is so dour and grumpy. He is the absolute antithesis of the spirit of Christmas. I DO LIKE CHRISTMAS, BUT IT COMES ROUND REALLY QUICKLY… I don’t think we should have it every year. Perhaps it could be more like the Olympics and just happen every four years. TO SWERVE THE ODD CHRISTMAS, I USED TO GO TRAVELLING…

In the past, I’ve spent a few sitting on a beach in India. These days, I do have to embrace it, because I’ve got kids. It would be really crappy if I were to ruin it for them. I AM TOTALLY HONEST WHEN I RECEIVE TERRIBLE PRESENTS…

People have learnt to keep the receipt when they buy me something. My husband has bought me several things that I’m afraid just had to go back. MY FAMILY AND I WILL BE WATCHING THE Bad Move CHRISTMAS SPECIAL…

I do slightly struggle to watch myself on screen, but I was away filming the series for eight weeks so the least I can do for my kids is to show them what I was doing when I was away. WINNING THE LATEST SERIES OF

Taskmaster WAS BRILLIANT… I reckon there’s no point taking part in something if you don’t try to win. I think James Acaster was secretly just as competitive as me. I KEEP THE Taskmaster TROPHY [A GOLDEN BUST OF GREG DAVIES’ HEAD] IN MY GARAGE…

Where did you think I would keep it? On the mantelpiece?
