NEW Charmed

The reboot of the fantasy drama, which first aired in 1998, centres on a trio of sisters who discover they’re good witches, known as The Charmed Ones. Following their mother’s death, the trio – scientific Macy (Madeleine Mantock), fiercely feminist Mel (Melonie Diaz) and fun-loving Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) – are told by Harry Greenwood (Rupert Evans) that he’s their Whitelighter, or guardian angel. He gives them 48 hours to decide whether to accept their powers, which they can use to protect the innocent from supernatural demons, or return to their normal lives.
NEW Silent Witness
TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY BBC1 HD, 9pm
Emilia Fox returns as dedicated forensic pathologist Dr Nikki Alexander in the 22nd series of the crime drama. In the first two-part story, shown across two nights this week, Nikki and the rest of the team at the Lyell are called in to help search for the killer of a transgender man and the kidnapper of a trans activist in crimes that appear to be linked.

At the end of the last series, behavioural expert and trial consultant Dr Jason Bull (Michael Weatherly) had a heart attack. As the third season begins, the workaholic has learned to curb his self-destructive tendencies. But he’ll have to deal with the departure of his tech expert, Cable.

The second season of the superhero drama returns from its Winter break. After tensions in both the Inner Circle and the Mutant Underground reached an all-time high in the mid-series finale, both factions continue to fight for what they believe in.
