HIS NEW ROLE

THE 42-YEAR-OLD stars in Brexit: The Un­civil War, a one-off drama that goes be­hind the scenes in the run-up to the Brexit ref­er­en­dum in 2016, by fo­cus­ing on the largely un­known strate­gists in both camps. Cum­ber­batch plays Do­minic Cum­mings, the lead strate­gist and cam­paign di­rec­tor of Vote Leave, while Rory Kin­n­ear is his op­po­site num­ber, Craig Oliver, Prime Min­is­ter David Cameron’s di­rec­tor of com­mu­ni­ca­tions, who over­sees the Re­main cam­paign’s strat­egy.
