THE CANADIAN CRIME DRAMA set in Toronto in the late 1890s returns for a 12th series with Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) and his wife, Dr Julia Ogden (Helene Joy), once again using radical forensic techniques of the time, including fingerprinting and UV light, to solve murders. In the first episode, the couple throw a party to mark the completion of their new home, which was designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. But the party comes to an abrupt end with a fatal explosion, and when the victim is identified as a rival architect, Wright becomes the prime suspect. Downton Abbey’s Sophie Mcshera plays Wright’s assistant.
