GANGS OF LEMUR ISLAND Wed-fri, 7pm

This five-part series follows a troop of ring-tailed lemurs living in Berenty, a spiny forest reserve where the primates are obsessed with social rank.

Native only to Madagascar, lemurs are adept at adapting to a changing climate – and cameras follow the creatures as they seek mates and battle for supremacy.

AFRICA’S UNDERWATER WONDERS Wednesday-friday, 4pm

This series reveals some of the stunning creatures living in the waters around Africa, including the rich array of marine life off the coast of Mozambique, where sunlight fuels growth. There’s also an episode focusing on

Cape fur seals, which live on the western coast of South Africa, where the pups must battle against heat, hunger, congestion and ocean storms in order to survive.

MYSTERIES OF THE MEKONG Thursday, 8pm

This journey along the Mekong River takes viewers through China, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. The remote Mekong basin is home to 20,000 plant species, 430 mammals, 1,200 birds, 800 reptiles and amphibians, and an estimated 850 freshwater fish species. Don’t miss Laos’ highly endangered and elusive black crested gibbon. This series follows film-maker Patrick Aryee and an adorable cast of baby animal characters as they face the challenges of their first days, weeks and months of life, and learn the skills they need to survive as adults.
