WHEN JEFFREY EPSTEIN was found dead in his New York jail cell last summer, many of his victims feared the true magnitude of his shocking crimes would never be fully revealed.
The disgraced US financier and convicted sex offender was awaiting trial on a string of new sex-trafficking charges at the time of his mysterious suicide. Yet some people believe he was the key to a much darker conspiracy.
Now, a four-part docuseries from executive producer Joe Berlinger, who brought us Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy
Tapes, lifts the lid on Epstein’s crimes, his web of enablers, and how he used his wealth to escape justice for more than two decades.
The businessman had been accused of arranging to have sex with girls as young as 14 at his residences in Manhattan and Florida, and the series hears from some of his many accusers –
EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT… such as Haley Robson and Annie Farmer, dubbed the ‘sisterhood of survivors’ – who are lobbying authorities to pursue those who might have aided and abetted Epstein.
SEX SLAVE
Some of them are waiving their anonymity in order to go public for the first time, but one woman who’ll be familiar to British audiences is Virginia Giuffre, who claims she had sex with Prince Andrew while being used as a sex slave by Epstein. Giuffre alleges she was trafficked by Epstein and that Prince Andrew had sex with her on three separate occasions, including when she was 17, still a minor under US law. Prince Andrew categorically denies the accusations.

The series also looks at the role of socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, who has been accused of procuring girls for Epstein, which she denies.
‘Epstein’s dead, but he did not act alone,’ says Giuffre in the series. ‘The monsters are still out there. You took our freedom – and now we’re going to take yours.’
She believes Epstein was part of a paedophile ring, and the series asks questions about the disgraced billionaire’s suspicious death.
CCTV cameras outside his cell malfunctioned on the night he took his own life, leading to theories that he was murdered in a bid to protect his powerful friends who could have been implicated in his upcoming trial.
‘Did he kill himself or was he killed?’ asks one of his accusers. ‘There was something happening here that was bigger than just Jeffrey Epstein.’
