A GROUP OF TEENAGE ROYALS discover hidden

superpowers in a new adventure film

HERE IS AN early shot from subscription channel Disney+’s new teen drama, Secret Society of Second-born Royals, which is released from Friday 17 July.

The live-action movie stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee as Sam, a teenage royal who is second-inline to the throne of the kingdom of Illyria. With a wild and rebellious streak, skateboarding Sam would rather rock out with her bandmate and best friend Mike (Noah Lomax) than obey the rules and regulations of royal protocol – unlike her older sister,

Eleanor (Ashley Liao), who is set to become the next queen.

Fed up with her daughter’s misbehaviour, Queen Catherine (Elodie Yung) sends Sam to a summer boarding school, where she and other royals discover they have superhuman abilities because of a genetic quirk that only affects second-born royals.

TEAMWORK

Invited to join a secret-training programme, the recruits must learn to harness their newfound powers and work together to save the world from the villainous Inmate 34 (Greg Bryk).

‘It’s a contemporary princess story, and I’m excited to see what viewers think of it,’ says Lee, who is best known for playing the title character in Disney’s Andi Mack.

‘Sam is a unique addition to the Disney princess family because she doesn’t want to be a princess; she doesn’t want to be royalty. When she finds this secret society that feels the same way, they figure out how to create their own legacy and have an impact on their country and the world.’
