AFTER STARTING OUT in stand-up comedy, Tom Allen has been a regular on our screens with appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Mock the Week, and as the host of BBC2 companion show The Apprentice: You’re Fired! in 2019. A regular on spin-off show The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, he went on to co-host Bake Off: The Professionals, and put on the apron for The Great Celebrity Bake Off when he went up against former school friend Rob Beckett.

THIS WEEK, THE dapper comedian hosts C4’s new game show
Quizness. The general-knowledge game includes quirky rounds in which nearly every question has the same answer, or where all the contestants must answer a different question to the one being asked. ‘I grew up loving Larry Grayson and Bruce Forsyth and I love a show that tests the players’ ability to answer a complicated question,’ says Allen, 37. ‘It’s both hilarious and a lot of fun.’
