Johnny becomes concerned about Lee and Whitney’s lavish spending

Time to rein it in: Johnny has wise words for his bigspendin­g brother fter suffering the trauma of a miscarriag­e, Whitney and Lee are looking to the future. But is it a future they can afford? Johnny fears they aren’t living within their means, and sets out to have words with his big bruv.

On the plus side, Lee is at least in gainful employment again

Afollowing the collapse of the fishy empire that was Briggs and Son. He starts his new job on Monday, and is full of the joys of spring when he returns home. But he’s not even had his first pay cheque when Whitney suggests they look into getting their own house. Meanwhile, he spoils her with a big present.

It’s not just her own place that Whitney wants. She confides in Lauren that she wants to try for another baby, too. Lee’s at work at the time and, when he arrives home, he has some bad news. Has he been given the boot already?

While Johnny tries to get his brother to curb his spending, a giddy Whitney bombards him with her plans for the future. Lee will do anything for her – but at what cost?

While Lee holds his stag night in The Vic, Whitney has a second hen do – a pamper party that falls flat when she reveals she’s got her eye on a property in nearby Stratford. Linda’s not happy at the prospect of her son and his bride flying the nest – but is it all a pipe dream, anyway?
