Gleb’s back…
…and he wants to return to Strictly as one of the judges
Gleb Savchenko wowed viewers with his nifty moves as he danced with celebrity partner Anita Rani on last year’s Strictly.
Now the Russian heart-throb and current pro on America’s Dancing with the Stars wants to return to the UK as a judge.
‘I don’t think I’ll be coming back as a dancer, but maybe as a judge. I’d love that!’ he tells us in an exclusive interview. ‘I think Anton would be perfect to take Len’s spot because he’s an awesome, knowledgeable guy with a great sense of humour.
But when Bruno leaves in a few years, I could take his place…’
Gleb, 33, shocked fans by leaving the BBC phenomenon after just one series, but he reveals it was only ever a short-term gig. ‘My wife Elena and I live in LA and we wanted to travel a bit, so Strictly was a great job that took me to London for five months. Then we came back home in time for our five-year-old daughter, Olivia, to start school this year. It was a family decision.’
He still finds time to watch our show, though, and says Danny Mac and Judge Rinder are his favourite contestants. ‘Danny is killing it – he’s amazing – and
I love the Judge, he’s so confident.’
The good news is that Gleb is returning to Britain for two special performances of a West End stage show called One More Dance, co-starring fellow ex-strictly pro Kristina Rihanoff. ‘There’ll be a lot of Gleb specials,’ he promises.
