She’s left questioning their future when ex-boyfriend Matt asks her to leave the village with him...
Seeing Matt again has made Carly realise he isn’t the bad guy she thought he was
It was all going so well between Marlon and Carly before her ex, Matt, showed up. The lanky chef was about to propose, and it looked as if the Buttons and Cinderella of the Dales were about to live happily ever after. This week, though, things aren’t looking so rosy. Not only does Matt move in for a kiss with Carly, but he asks her to leave the village with him. Matt’s presence has left Marlon rattled – and who can blame him? There’s some serious chemistry between the former lovers. Even his bezzy mate has noticed the sparks.
‘Paddy’s picked up on the fact that Carly lights up when Matt is around,’ says Gemma Atkinson, who plays the fitness fanatic. ‘She feels more comfortable with him than she should. Seeing Matt again has made Carly realise he isn’t the bad guy she thought he was.’
When Brenda lets slip Marlon was about to propose, Carly fears Matt’s presence has put him off. She talks to Marlon about it and they make up, but just as Marlon is about to pop the question again, he spies her and Matt deep in conversation.
Adds Gemma: ‘They’re discussing a money-making venture, but when Marlon asks her what they were so animated about, Carly lies. She wants the money to pay for a surprise for Marlon. She doesn’t tell him the truth, because she thinks that what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.’
After Matt reveals his feelings for Carly, he leans in for a kiss and asks her to run away with him…
Meanwhile, Marlon is having a heart-to-heart with Laurel, and there must be something in the air, because he then leans in to kiss her.
Will either party confess? And with Matt’s proposition on her mind, which man will Carly choose?
