Just like everyone else involved in the New Year heist, Phil is still trying to get to the bottom of who has the missing money. He has no idea that his missus, Sharon, is the real thief – but is he about to uncover her secret?
Phil’s spent the last few weeks hanging out with runaway son Ben. He’s fuming when he returns to the Square and finds out that Sharon has reopened the club formerly run by Ronnie and Roxy, and employed his former fling Mel as manager. But he soon turns his attention back to finding out who has the loot. Come on, Phil, where did ‘lowrent housewife’ Sharon – as Ciara called her – find the cash to invest in the shabby ‘hot spot’? Instead, Phil barks up the wrong tree and thinks Jay knows something. The young undertaker insists he’s in the dark, and hands Phil the box that Aidan gave Keanu to hide. Even when Aidan questions Phil about where the money for the club has come from, he still doesn’t twig that Shazbang has done anything untoward.
Phil comes closer to the truth when he later spots the driver of the van involved in the robbery – a chap called Robert – with Mel. Smelling a rat, he has a chat with the fella, and starts to piece the clues together.
Sharon panics when her husband then leaves a voice message for her. Has Phil discovered her betrayal? And, if he has, what will he do about it?
