British writer-director Ben Wheatley (Sightseers, High-rise) sets himself a very simple challenge here: can he make a film that’s essentially one long shoot-out? The answer is a resounding ‘yes’ as he delivers a free-wheeling, high-octane actioner that throws in plenty of comedy bombs for good measure. Cillian Murphy and Brie Larson are among the triggerhappy cast taking this wildly entertaining ride.
