The teen feels under threat when she finds him in the shack where he imprisoned Rebecca

-

Lachlan tells Priya he’s out for a run, but she doesn’t really believe him…

If our calculations are correct, Lachlan’s death count has now reached five – grandad Lawrence, mum Chrissie, pal Gerry, fake uncle Terry and, most recently, aunt Rebecca – making him the most prolific killer in soapland. But is the tonto teen finished yet? Anyone who threatens to expose his deadly secrets is likely to come a cropper, so when Princess Priya proves a problem, it looks like she could become his next victim.

Lachlan has been edgy of late, furiously trying to come up with a plausible explanation for Rebecca’s disappearance. But as the drama kicks off this week, he thinks things are on the up. Belle has returned to the village and, jubilant after passing her A-levels, she suggests that they get a place together.

‘He feels great,’ says Thomas Atkinson, who plays the crazed killer. ‘He loves Belle and wants to spend the rest of his life with her.’

But then Priya puts a spanner in the works. Lachlan’s former Whingles partner is now working for Joe Tate at Home Farm, and mentions that she has hired a dog patrol for the glamping site. There’s been plenty of blood spilt in the woods. If the mutt gets a whiff of it, Lachlan’s mincemeat.

Fearing he’ll be rumbled, Lachlan heads to the site to cover his tracks. When the security guard leaves, he sneaks into the cabin that he held

Rebecca in, and is panic-stricken by what he finds.

‘In one of Rebecca’s many attempts to escape, she has written “Lachlan is a killer” in the shack,’ reveals Thomas. ‘He’s got to think of a way to get rid of it without people seeing.’

Lachlan tries to erase the message – only to be interrupted by Priya’s arrival. Will she see the writing on the wall?

‘He tells her he’s out for a run,’ adds Thomas, ‘but she doesn’t really believe him.

‘She’s in danger. Anyone who’s messing with his safety and his relationship with Belle… Well, it’s potentially not going to have a great ending.’

Desperate to get rid of the evidence, Lachlan returns the next day. Dousing the cabin in petrol, he prepares to set it alight. But will he be caught out?
