My festive favourites!

phillip takes his pick of Christmas traditions…

-

Christmas Eve or Boxing Day? Christmas Eve, no question – that’s the most magical evening of the year. By Boxing Day it’s all done and gone.

Christmas jumper or festive pyjamas?

Christmas jumper. I’ve got one that has bells on it, so when I walk downstairs it jingles and you think it’s Santa!

Turkey or pigs in blankets? Pigs in blankets – turkey is just dull! My wife Steph’s turkey is the best but turkey is just the pretender to a good chicken.

Sprouts or parsnips? Steph’s sprouts are always perfect; they’re never those hideous ones that have been boiled for 12 hours. But she does a maple-syrup glaze on her parsnips, so I’d go for them.

Mince pies or stollen? Mince pies are tastier. Hopefully with clotted cream – it’s always clotted cream above everything else!

Christmas pudding or Stilton and crackers?

I love Christmas pudding because it’s another reason to have clotted cream! But if it’s good Stilton, I would go for the cheese.

Telly or board games? Board games but some are banned because there are people in our family – they know who they are – who can’t play the Mr & Mrs board game without a row! We seldom turn the telly on at Christmas – I just go through and record things.

With the help of the bumper TV Times Christmas issue? Of course! How else would I know what is on?!
