Back together!
Old lovebirds Nick and Leanne are reunited – and so are Toyah and Imran!
The Battersby girls get their men back this week, but neither is in a rush to broadcast it. Toyah hasn’t forgiven Nick for leaving her sister last year, so Leanne knows she won’t be impressed with her giving him another chance.
Meanwhile, it’s not long since Toyah joined forces with Leanne to get revenge on Imran for sleeping with them both – so she knows that Lea’s likely to kick off if she discovers that she’s welcomed the solicitor back into her bed.
Toyah’s the first to give in to her desires. When Imran accuses Leanne of conspiring with Nick to scam Elsa, she storms round to the solicitor’s office to tear a strip off him, but ends up snogging him instead. They spring apart when they hear someone approaching, and Toyah hides under Imran’s desk as Nick barges in to defend his ex.
Leanne needs a bit of a push to reunite with Nick, but thankfully she has Shona. Realising the pair are pining for one another, the café worker locks them in Roy’s Rolls to sort out their differences… and Leanne’s glad that she did.
‘Nick and Leanne have been sweethearts since they were teens,’ says Jane Danson, who plays her, ‘and will always love each other.
‘Leanne feels like it’s easy with him, and Nick knows her. He’s seen her at her worst and her best, which is a sign of true love.’
But keeping their respective relationships a secret isn’t easy when the women live in the same flat, and it’s not long before things get tricky. As Toyah’s enjoying an afternoon of nookie with Imran, lusty Leanne arrives back with Nick. Imran has no choice but to hide on the balcony in his undercrackers, while Toyah locks herself in the bathroom. Are the sisters’ lovers about to be exposed?
Of course, when it comes to Nick, Leanne has more than just her sister’s opinion to worry about. There’s also his missus, Elsa, who’s still sashaying about on the cobbles.
Nick reassures her that he’ll get shot of the blonde, and later tells Elsa that he’s prepared to sell his Underworld share and pay back her £40k, on the condition she keeps Leanne out of their divorce proceedings. Will Elsa play ball?
