Emmerdale and Hollyoaks

He knocks down a villager while drunk at the wheel…

-

The windy roads of Emmerdale may look as pretty as a picture, but they can also be devilishly dangerous, as Robert Sugden found last year when he was hit by a car while staggering home from The Woolpack.

This week, another villager has a close encounter with a car bonnet, and it’s all thanks to drunk driver Daz Spencer. He’s already killed a man during his army days. Is he about to claim another life?

Daz has been given the motor as part of a new job, but he’s not the only one who takes it for a spin – so, too, does Leanna Cavanagh.

The troublesome teen has teamed up with Noah to out-prank a rival gang. The duo start by flooding the school toilets, then cause pandemonium at the vet’s practice where, with Amelia’s help, they release a load of animals from their cages.

Vanessa suspects Noah is involved, and after she confronts him, Daz orders the schoolboy to stay away from his daughter. But the warning simply gives Noah inspiration for another dare. Before you can say

Amelia tries to put a stop to their antics, but Leanna tricks her into joining the joyride. As an argument breaks out, Amelia pulls Leanna’s hair, causing the young driver to lose control of the vehicle, which swerves on to a grass verge. The kids abandon the car in the field, and there it stays, until Daz later spots it. He’s had a boozy meeting with his boss, Trish, who asks him back to her place to ‘sign some paperwork’. En route in a cab, he insists he’s not interested in any hanky-panky. He’s mortified when married Trish replies that she really does just want to sign some papers, and he sheepishly gets out of the vehicle.

As Daz starts walking, he’s puzzled to spot his car. He gets in for a nap, then decides to risk driving home, drunk. He doesn’t notice Noah’s phone left on the seat, and when it rings out, he’s momentarily distracted and ploughs into a fellow resident.

Panicking, the former soldier flees from the scene. But who has he hit? And will they survive?
