Alfie thinks the baby is stacey’s – then hayley walks in and says, ‘she’s mine’
The birthday party that Jean has thrown for Hayley is certainly full of surprises. It started last Friday and it’s still in full swing on Tuesday. On top of that, there’s an unexpected guest in Alfie. He’s arrived to win back Kat, but gets more than he bargained for when he realises Hayley has had his baby.
Kat and Alfie’s marriage went pear-shaped in Spain, where
Kat was too busy sleeping with a Russian to prevent son Ernie from being scalded. Alfie then slept with Hayles, and when she revealed she was up the duff, he insisted she have a termination – which he still believes she had.
Jean, who knows the truth about Hayley’s nipper, shoos Alfie away from the house. But he’s desperate to see Kat, so he sneaks back in. After a heartto-heart with his missus, he ends up having a cuddle with the baby, unaware of who she belongs to…
‘He thinks the baby is one of Stacey’s at first,’ reveals Shane Richie, who plays Alfie. ‘Then Hayley walks into the room and says, “She’s mine,” and bang! Alfie realises that this is his daughter.’
Hayley’s upset when Alfie admits he’s returned for Kat and not her, and when he later asks to be a part of their daughter’s life, she tells him to back off. Kat can tell something has upset her cousin, and tries to comfort her. If only she knew…
Meanwhile, Alfie throws himself into a new business venture, selling funeral packages under the name of ‘Blue Moon Funerals’. He charms Hayley into helping him, but just when she thinks that he feels something for her, he wounds her by making a grand gesture toward Kat.
Hayley’s gutted, but as Alfie tries to apologise, Jean loses her patience, and tells him that if he doesn’t tell Kat everything, she will. Are fireworks about to go off?
