TV Times Awards
It’s been a tremendous year on TV, so it’s no surprise that thousands of you voted for your favourites in our prestigious annual awards
Drum roll, please! Nothing makes me happier than applauding great television, so a big thank you to the thousands of you who voted for your top programmes and favourite stars in our prestigious annual awards. We meet all the worthy winners, including my choices for two very special Editor’s Awards…
Viewers were utterly enthralled by political thriller Bodyguard when it aired earlier this year, making it the BBC’S most watched drama since 2008. So it’s no surprise that it has won not one, not two, but three TV Times Awards!
Keeley Hawes is absolutely delighted with the Favourite Actress trophy for her star turn as Home Secretary Julia Montague.
‘Feeling very proud and grateful,’ says Keeley, who also accepted the Favourite Drama gong on behalf of the whole Bodyguard team.
‘I’d like to say a huge thanks to TV Times and its readers for their support of Bodyguard.
I share these awards with the show’s amazing cast, crew and production team that I was lucky enough to be a part of.’
Meanwhile, Keeley’s co-star Richard Madden is chuffed to have scooped this year’s Favourite Actor award for his portrayal of haunted war veteran David Budd. Richard has been in Los
Bodyguard in America so hasn’t had time to collect his trophy yet, but he has asked us to pass on this message…
‘Thank you so much to all the TV Times readers who voted for me!’ he says.
‘I’m thrilled and very thankful!’
