Predator

What begins as a standard Arnold Schwarzenegger action vehicle – he plays a cigarchomping military commander leading his troops on a covert mission in South America – morphs into a monster movie, with the humans being stalked by a ruthless alien hunter in the jungle. Director John Mctiernan keeps the action thundering along at a ferocious pace and the scenes from the alien’s heat-sensitive point of view are a nice touch. Dir: John Mctiernan 1987, 18, 115min
