Gina believes, a little bit, that Sally doesn’t deserve Tim
Christmas comes early for Gina Seddon this week as she gets what she really, really wants – the affections of dim Tim. But as she and her brother-in-law share a kiss, will her conscience kick in, or will she take advantage of her sister Sal’s incarceration?
Gina’s been smitten with
Tim for months. In the run-up to Sally’s trial, she loved holding the fort at No.4, doing Tim’s washing and making his butties.
She was crushed when Tim made it clear that his missus was the only woman for him – but in the wake of Sally’s conviction, things have changed. Tim believes she really did sleep with Duncan, and she’s not due out of prison for four years, so there’s an opportunity for Gina to fill her shoes.
‘Gina believes, a little bit, that Sally doesn’t deserve Tim,’ says Connie Hyde, who plays her. ‘She wishes that she had him. She’s had two broken marriages and has dysfunctional relationships with her children. She needs some love.’
As Gina remains at No.4, Sophie’s rattled by the pair’s cosy set-up. But she has other things to worry about, as solicitor Paula slaps her with a huge legal bill. She suggests to Tim that he sell his half of Street Cars to cover it, and is staggered when he puts the house on the market instead.
Gina’s made up when Tim asks her to join him and Faye in their new pad, and when Sally phones, the machinist meddles to keep the pair apart.
When Tim then lets loose at the Street Cars Christmas bash, Gina’s intrigued to hear him drunkenly declare that since his wife did the dirty on him, it’s about time he did the same.
As Gina helps blootered Tim get safely home, he thanks her for being there, and lunges at her.
