Dan is livid when Daz lets Amelia take the rap for the hit and run…

-

Dan has given Daz so many chances, but this is the lowest of the low

If Dan Spencer was ever in any doubt that his brother Daz was a waste of space, then he gets conclusive proof this week. The former soldier sinks to a new low and lets young Amelia take the rap for the recent hit-and-run.

Daz is as guilty as sin for the crime, but lacking a backbone

(as well as a decent haircut), he’s sat back and said nothing as the police have focused their attentions on Amelia and fellow teenagers Leanna and Noah, who went joyriding in his car on the night in question.

As events kick off this week, Amelia remains in turmoil while the police keep her in their sights, and things get worse when Nicola serves the family with an eviction notice.

‘Amelia thinks her behaviour is reflecting on the family as a whole,’ reveals Liam Fox, who plays Dan, ‘and that Graham wants to get rid of the Spencers because of her.’

Daz feels guilty when Dan says the family will need to leave the village – but not guilty enough to speak up. And things get messier for Amelia when PC Swirling turns up and reveals that the cops believe she knows more about the incident than she’s letting on.

As the investigation gathers apace, Leanna urges Amelia to take the blame, and when Daz overhears, he finally crumbles and tells her that he was responsible. The schoolgirl is stunned, but insists on leaving things as they are and lying that she did it – Daz is her biological father, and she doesn’t want him to go to prison.

Daz, being Daz, agrees to go along with the plan, believing that Amelia’s too young to be arrested. But as Amelia heads to the nick to hand herself in, he realises she can be arrested after all. He hotfoots it to the station and, seeing Dan, admits to his brother that he’s the guilty party.

Dan is sickened. ‘He has given Daz so many chances,’ adds Liam, ‘but this is the lowest of the low.’

As PC Swirling appears, will Daz come clean? And even if he does, is the brothers’ bond now broken for good?
